1 Tarla Bitkileri Merkez Araştırma Enstitüsü Müdürlüğü, P.K. 226, 06042, Ulus, Ankara - The objective of this study was to determine and compare the morphological, phenological and agromonic traits in 2 sainfoin ( Onobrychis spp. ) local populations and one promising line. The research was carried out in Haymana Research and Production Station of The Field Crop Research Institute in 1999, 2000, and 2001 years in Ankara, Turkey. The morphological characteristics as stem length, stem thickness, and 1000 pod weight, and the phenological features as number of days to flowering were determined, and agronomic characteristics as the foliage and hay yield were measured on populations and on the line. As a result of this experiment, the line number of 192025 was registered as the first sainfoin variety in Turkey and named as Özerbey-03. Keywords : Sainfoin line and populations, morphological, phenological and agronomic characteristics
