REVIEW OF SOME STUDIES ON REHABILITATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE RANGELAND AND THE MEADOW IN THE CENTRAL ANATOLIA

- In addition to other advantages rangelands and meadows have a vital importance. The development of livestock sector is dependent upon particularly on the availability of the sources of low cost and quality feed. Rangelands and meadows are main feed resources for livestock. Because of decrease in area and yield, rangelands and meadows lost their potentials considerably.

The Central Anatolia comes after the eastern Anatolia in terms of the area of rangelands and meadows. Many studies were completed in the Central Anatolia. Most of these researches concentrated on the botanical compositions, management and rehabilitation. The results revealed that uncertainty in ownership regime and lack of laws organizing the utilization limited the implementation of valuable research findings.
