DOI : 10.21566/tarbitderg.281867 - It was investigated Effects of five different gamma ray radiation dose (200, 250, 300, 350 and 400 Gy), which was applied seed of İpek 607 cotton variety, on some traits on M2 plants. Gamma rays mutagen from cobalt 60 was applied and selfed M1 generation bolls were picked in 2013. Control variety İpek 607 and Obtained M2 bulk seeds from bolls were planted in 20 rows with a row length of 12 meter, 0.7 meter between rows and 0.2 meter between plants. According to plant form and yields 334 Plant were selected from field condition and 67 plant superior than control were selected for fiber quality traits. 64 plant for yields, 25 plant for ginning outturn and 55 plant for fiber quality traits were selected from field. The selected plant for yields ranged between 50 to 361 gr plant-1, for ginning outturn varied from 28.10 to 36.17%, for fiber length changed 31.14 to 35.23 mm, for fiber fineness ranged between 3.68 to 4.91 mm and for fiber strength changed 32.20 to 42.90 g teks-1. Selfed seeds were picked from each plant to producing M3 bulk population. The result considered, M2 single plants have been found promising fiber quality traits than Ipek 607 variety.
