THE EFFECTS OF INOCULATION AND DIFFERENT DOSES OF NITROGEN FERTILIZER ON YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

The aim of this research was to determine the effects of inoculation and different doses of nitrogen fertilizer on the characters of plant height, plant weight, number of nodule on plant and nodule weight, root weight, seed weight, harvest index, 100 seed weight and yield per decare. The variety of chickpea named Akçin-91 was used as seed material. Rhizobium ciceri was used as inoculant. The sowing was done at split randomized block design and in three replication.

According to the results of this research; nodulation has not been occurred in the applications in which bacterium inoculation was not done, depending on this, the lowest values have been obtained in root weight, plant height, plant weight, number of pods per plant, seed weight and yield. In the application of seed inoculation, the nodules were bigger and they occured near by mean root and also the root weight had increased. The similar results have been determined in plant height, plant weight. number of pods, seed weight and yield with the method of soil inoculation. In the application of soil inoculation, the number of nodules were the highest, but nodules were small and occured around capillary roots. Plant characteristics investigated have shown similar results to methods of seed inoculation and soil inoculation. In the application of nitrogen; nodulation decreased in inoculation application, but it caused significant increases in other characteristics. Both bacterium inoculation applications and nitrogen doses have caused important increase in yield.
