- This research was conducted on the experimental field of Agronomy Department in Agricultural Faculty of Ankara University, in 1995. The aim of the research was to determine selection of genetic male-sterile lines and effect of yield components on the seed yields in sunflower. In the research; six genetic male-sterile lines and controls V.8931 and Ekiz-1 varieties were used as a material. According to the results of this research; the mean value of some characters in genetic male-sterile lines and control V.8931 and Ekiz-1 varieties such as seed yield, thousand seed weight and oil percentage were determined between 167.66 - 175.33 kg/da, 117.33 kg/da; 67.46 and 76.20g, 74.56g, 58.19 g; %43.41 and %47.37, %45.38, %46.53, respectively. Ekiz-1 and genetic male-sterile lines were found resistant to broomrape. Keywords : Sunflower; Helianthus annuus L.; genetic male-sterile
