- Various fertilization and seeding methods were investigated by using different rates of P2Os in order to obtain optimum rate for each method tested, under fallow-wheat condition for 4 consequitive years (1986-89). According to the results, there was not any statistical yield differences among the methods, but phosphorous fertilizer affected yield in 3 years out of 4. It was determined that one boxed drill in which fertilizer and seed were mixed yielded better than two-boxed which banded phosphorous near the seed, when lower rates of fertilizer applied. On the other hand, band application overyielded at higher rates of fertilizer applied. Economic rates of P205 were 53 kg/da and 83 kg/ha for mixed and band application, respectively. The higher efficiency of one-boxed drill in fertilizer use explained by more closeness of seed and fertilizer and no toxisity of Tripple süper phosphate (TSP) fertilizer to seed. Any difference between seeding methods of broacasting and drilling was not found. It was determined that banding provided more yield than broacasting and incorporating phosphorous into soil in one year. Phosphorous fertilizer increased spike number/m2 and tiller number/plant in wheat. Keywords : Different rates of phosphorous fertilizer ; various seeding method; wheat; yield
