1 Department of Field Crops, Faculty of Agriculture, Azad University, Ersenjan, Iran - The study was carried out at Tonekabon-Iran during 2005 to determine the effects of transplantation dates, nitrogen doses and plant densities on yield and yield components of cv. R250. The experiment was established using split-split plot design. Three transplantation dates of May 15th, 25th and June 4th, 2005 served as main plots, nitrogen doses (150, 200 and 250 kgN/ha) to sub plots and plant density of 30x10, 30x15, 20x20 and 25x25 cm to sub-subplot. Results showed that different transplantation dates, doses of nitrogen and plant densities had a significant effect on all investigated characters. Increased nitrogen doses increased the number of tillering while delayed transplantation resulted in increased plant height. The highest seed yield as 7.972 kg/ha was obtained from plants sown on 15th May at plant density of 30x10 cm. ıt was concluded that earlier transplantation with plant density of 30x10 cm and 150-200 kgN/ha gave the maximum seed yield in rice.
