- This research was conducted in the experimental field and laboratories of Field Crops Department, Faculty of Agricultııre and University of Ankara in 1998. Three different row spaces (30, 45, 60 cm.) and four different seed rates (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 kg./da) were used in this study Split plots of randomized blocks design was applied with three replications. According to this research data for following traits ranged as indicated: Seed yield 63.8 - 86.0 kg/da, biological yield 989.8 1468.8 kg/da, plant height 88.1 -94.1 cm, seed yield Per plant 2.87- 4.67g, one thousand seed weight 7.49 9.13 g, branch number 6.20 - 8.87, umbellet number 15.53 - 18.21 and essential oil content 1.93 2.28%. Keywords : Sweet fennel, plant density, yield, yield components
