- This research was conducted in 1984-1985 at Kenan Evren Experimental and Applied Farm Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ankara.

The aim of this research was to determine the effects of herbicides which were applied pre-emergence and post emergence to cumin for weed control on yield and some yield components of wheat succeeding cumin.

According to the results of this research;

Pre-emergence use of herbicides in cumin are more suitable. Post-emergence application of herbicides caused decrease in wheat yield.

Prometryn Trifluralin at correct doses which was applied as pre-emergence caused the increase in wheat yield.

If the post-emergence application is required, instead of wheat a spring crop or spring barley should be grown after cumin in order to avoid from deleterious effect of herbicides. Keywords : Cuminum cyminum L.; cumin; herbicide; wheat
