Three red and two white bread wheat cultivars grown at eleven locations were tested for falling number. Highly significant (P < 0.01) genotype, environment, and genotype X environment. Interactions were detected for falling number. In general, red cultivars revealed less sprouting than white cultivars white cultivars also differed for sprouting. Kıraç 66, a white cultivar, sprouted less then Gerek 79. Keywords : Bread wheat; preharvest sprouting; falling number; red and white kernel colour
