Determination of Corn (Zea mays L.) Varieties Compatible to Suitable Kahramanmaraş Ecological Conditions

DOI : 10.21566/tarbitderg.359294 Viewed : 282 - Downloaded : 260 This research was carried out at the experimental area of Eastern Mediterranean Transitional Zone Agricultural Research Institute to determine corn varieties having high yield and adaptable to Kahramanmaraş ecological conditions in 2015 and 2016. Experiments were carried out with randomized block design technique with three replicates of 8 F1 maize genotypes from Sakarya Maize Research Institute and 4 controls were planted as research materials. Following parameters were investigated and recorded: tasseling time, plant height, ear height, crop height, number of cobs, grain moisture at harvest, grain/ear rate, grain yield, number of rustic plants and corn borer. According to two years, results, grain yield mean differences were found significant among following genotypes: P. 31G98 (1406 kg da-1), ADA 13.7 (1403 kg da-1), ADA 13.29 (1384 kg da-1), P. 31A34 (1374 kg da-1), DKC6589 (1360 kg da-1), respectively.
